Construction compared with the OEM LSD

Case: Tomei uses a fully machined case, while the OEM unit is machined from a casting. The fully machined design creates more internal space for clutch discs while supporting high strength and lower weight.

Discs: Larger-diameter external- and internal-tooth discs provide more effective friction area and stronger lock-up force.

Internal parts: The Tomei unit uses 12 discs per side (24 total), compared with 5 per side (10 total) in the OEM unit. The additional friction area supports stronger lock-up, better wear resistance, and more stable operation.

2-way characteristics

A 2-way LSD provides strong locking action during acceleration and deceleration, allowing the driver to actively control rear vehicle posture.
